Updating the S10 Cooling System
Not that the radiator that was in it didn’t fit well or that it leaked, it just didn’t cool very well. So I actually later ended up changing to a Corvette radiator for two reasons; The Corvette Radiator already had a provision for the steam hose, so there wasn’t any extra fabrication to the factory radiator and the Corvette radiator had a bigger core volume without as much area. So I put the 4 cylinder radiator tray back in, cut another shroud to match the intake tubing and strapped the twin electric fans to the whole kaboodle. Yep, running electric fans on a truck never provisioned with them. I also tucked the upper hose into the fan shroud with some special hose moldings/fittings. (I still got some tricks.)
Sadly, in actuality, I had to put two new radiators in it. (Third time is a charm, I guess.) You can see in the photo where the radiator on the left had pushed out the steam vent fitting once it got up to temperature. If you squint, you might be able to see the steam vent fitting pushed into the new radiator and sealed. I swapped the pair of fans onto the second new radiator and tossed the whole assembly into the truck.
While I was working on the truck, I managed to fix the speedometer. I had missed a pin on the body harness–the S10 wiring had a separate wire for speedometer input and ABS input whereas the factory Silverado had only one wire for all the modules looking for vehicle speed. A quick solder and heat shrink and I was ready to go.

After clocking miles, it was time for a few more celebrations before I would put new tires on the rear. I did my best to get full life out of the well aged hides.
At this point all the major powertrain services have been performed during the conversion, all the fluids and filters are new and now the tires are new, too.
